Vanessa Cesário

Biography

Professor Vanessa Cesário is a distinguished expert in Digital Media and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She holds a Ph.D. in Digital Media (Communications sciences and technology), a Master’s in Cultural Management, and a Bachelor’s in Communication. Her research focuses on HCI and communication within cultural heritage spaces, using participatory design to enhance engagement and preservation through technology.

As a member of the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI), Professor Cesário collaborates with international institutions, contributing to various research areas. She is recognized for her scholarly work in international journals and conferences, particularly in Communication, HCI, Interaction Design, and Cultural Heritage.

Professor Cesário teaches at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Madeira. In her current role, her teaching methodology emphasizes integrating theoretical principles with practical applications, preparing students to navigate and excel in the dynamic landscape of modern digital communication. Through her academic endeavours, she explores the complex interplay between technology, communication, and cultural heritage.
