Andres Isaza-Giraldo

Biography

Media artist born in Manizales, Colombia. He studied Filmmaking at the National University of Colombia and Multimedia Art at the University of Lisbon. He has directed the short-films ‘Medias blancas’ (2017), ‘Sereno’ (2022) and The Last Film on Earth (2023), alongside several music videos, video-essays and interactive experiences. He has an interest for video post-production and machine learning technologies. His work explores the relationship of time in life, history and cinema.

He is a member of ITI/LARSyS where he explores the use of LLMs in videogames and interactive experiences for environmental awareness. He is currently developing the energy community game ‘En-join’ that uses LLMs as evaluating agents, and the virtual experience ‘Bein-Water’ where LLMs role play as more-than-human entities.
