Fernanda Costa
Biography
Fernanda Costa holds an MA in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins (UAL). Her interest lies in the intersection of design and technology and how to generate value from waste through critical lenses. Fernanda is a former mentor at MA Industrial Design at CSM and has also supported academic research students from UCL (London) and SWU (Wales) universities in the UK during her professional design career.
Fernanda joined the ITI PhD cohort in September 2023, part of the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project, in which she aims to explore the untapped potential of sea-derived waste materials and capture the narratives of people and places behind their origin for transmedia outputs and to investigate how the process of making artefacts that are connected to digital storytelling, can communicate value and provenance.
