Frederick Apina

Biography

Frederick Apina holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Dodoma and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Madeira.
As a research engineer at the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI), Frederick specializes in federated learning forecasting and uncertainty quantification for distributed energy resources in smart grid planning and operations. He contributes to the ALAMO project, addressing challenges from increased integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and the SHIFT2DC project, promoting efficient and sustainable direct current (DC) power solutions at both medium and low voltage levels.
