Biography

João Gomes (he/him) holds a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, completed in 2025. He is currently enrolled in the MSc in Computer Science and Engineering at the same institution, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.

His work combines augmented reality and artificial intelligence in everyday settings. Within the RELISH project, his MSc dissertation develops an AR smartglasses system that supports communication between young adults and their seniors during remote cooking guidance, interpreting context, confirming previous actions and suggesting alternatives when an ingredient or tool is unavailable.
