Biography

João Mendes Borga is currently a PhD student at ISCTE in Strategy and Innovation, Executive Director of the CMU Portugal Academy, and Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee for Competitiveness, Innovation and Public-Private Partnerships.  In the past, he was a member of the Steering Committee of Comptete 2030 and a member of the Board of the National Innovation Agency.

With a degree in Business Management and Administration, he has been responsible for the National Incubator Network, was a founding member of Startup Portugal as Executive Director, designed and implemented new public and private programs to support entrepreneurship, and was responsible for implementing and monitoring the national entrepreneurship strategy.
