Biography

Larissa Tomaz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Tecnico and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field with a specialization in Cybersecurity and Games. She is also a member of SINFO, a student organization responsible for the planning of one of the biggest Tech events in Portugal.

Under the supervision of Professor Teresa Almeida from ITI and Professor David Matos, an Assistant Professor at IST and researcher at INESC-ID, Larissa is working on her thesis project titled “Prototyping Blockchain Futures: Keeping Intimate Data Private with NFTs.” Her research aims to investigate how distributed systems can be used as a new approach to regain control over privacy and security in intimate health information.
