Biography

Mariana Simões holds a Master in Architecture from FAUP-UP and a Master in Contemporary History – Cities and Heritage from ISCTE-IUL.

She is a PhD candidate in Digital Media while a researcher within the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project. Her research will explore digital storytelling as a tool for recording existing and new narratives, having the sea as the object of the study – while a potential and diverse source for materials which can be articulated with artistic, design or construction activities and lead to the investigation of alternative, local and sustainable prototypes.
