Biography

Paulo Nascimento holds a PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Lisbon and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from ISPA. Currently, he is a researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute, where his work focuses on examining the role of digital methods in shaping the mental health and overall well-being of minority groups and couples.
His research interests are broad and interdisciplinary, with a particular focus on the ways in which digital technologies—such as mobile applications, digital gaming, and digital storytelling—can be leveraged to support mental health interventions.
He aims to understand how digital methods can be utilized not only as therapeutic interventions but also as preventative measures, offering novel ways to engage individuals and communities in mental health promotion. His research also explores how these digital solutions can be adapted to the unique needs of different groups, providing a more accessible and scalable approach to mental health support, especially in contexts where traditional mental health resources may be limited or less effective.
