Biography

Pedro Fontes (he/him) holds a BA in Digital Animation from Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (2013) and completed his Master’s degree in Journalism in 2019, at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, with special focus on animated news for children. In 2015, he attended the MA Animation program at UWE Bristol, where he completed the module Pre-production for Animation under the guidance of Luis Cook, Chris Webster, and Julia Bracegirdle.

Between 2015 and 2020, he worked as a freelancer, teaching animation and STEAM related activities to children and developing animation projects for Spatial Augmented Reality.

At ITI, he intends to explore projection mapping as a methodology for the creation of immersive narratives and the expansion of storytelling potential, seeking to enhance audiences’ ability to perceive and engage with the enduring values embedded in classical stories.
