Pedro Galvão-Ferreira

Biography

Pedro Ferreira holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the Champalimaud Foundation and an MSc in Science Communication (Science Media Production) from Imperial College London, the latter of which he obtained as a Wellcome Science Media Fellow. Pedro teaches Neuroscience and Behavioral Genetics as an Invited Assistant Professor at ISPA.

At ITI, Pedro is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in Public Engagement with STEAM within the LoGaCulture project, where he investigates the potential of a new generation of innovative locative games in benefiting European society through its cultural heritage sites. Pedro’s research focuses on novel transmedia narratives and games that engage a wide variety of audiences in single and social visiting of cultural heritage sites, as well as on the application of neuroscientifically-informed embodied and immersive technologies in fostering accessibility and engagement in user experience.
