Biography

Pedro Sanches is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics, Umeå University in Sweden. He received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in Sweden.

His research draws from the fields of interaction design, STS, and critical data studies to look at the use of data as a design material in interactive applications. He applies speculative and somaesthetic design tactics to critically probe the space of data-driven futures in domains such as digital health, cultural heritage, and performing arts.
