Ying Xu

Biography

Ying Xu graduated from Wuhan University of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering and an MPhil in Design. She worked as an intern in HCI research at Tinghua University’s Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR). She has been accepted into the PhD program in Computer Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and was awarded the CMU-Portugal affiliated Ph.D. program scholarship.

She works at Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI) under the supervision of Professor Nuno Jardim Nunes and with Professor Jessica Hammer serving as co-supervisor. Her research focuses on exploring the edutainment potential of playful human-AI interaction and how AI-integrated technologies may promote people embrace better lifestyles.
