Who we are
The Interactive Technologies Institute is an interdisciplinary research institution hosted at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. We bring together researchers from engineering, design, the social sciences, the arts, and the humanities to shape and understand the intricate relationships among technology, humans, and ecosystems.
Vision
To co-create technologies for inclusive, ecologically thriving, and caring futures
Our diverse community of researchers, studies and envisions futures where inclusive, caring, and thriving ecosystems emerge through collaborative action. We are committed to fostering environments where diverse intelligences, perspectives, and communities work together to build futures characterised by inclusion, care for one another and the planet, and conditions that allow all beings to flourish.
Mission
We conduct interdisciplinary research that advances knowledge of how technologies shape and are shaped by socio-ecological systems.
Through critical perspectives and collaboration with communities, academia, government, and industry, we co-create technologies and practices that foster inclusion, care, and ecological wellbeing. We believe technologies should be guided by responsible innovation and shaped collaboratively by those they affect.
