David dos Santos
Biography
David dos Santos is a researcher, artist, educator and creative consultant exploring the intersections of embodiment, performing arts, creativity, and technology. He holds a PhD in Philosophy of Science, Technology, Art and Society from the University of Lisbon, with co-supervision from NOVA University of Lisbon and Coventry University (UK), an MA in Multimedia Culture and Art (Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto | UT Austin), and a BA in Theatre Studies (ESMAE). He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute, working on the international projects eGames Lab and MODINA – Movement, Digital Intelligence and Interactive Audience. He has over 20 years of experience across artistic creation, teaching, and creative consultancy. He teaches at Lusófona University and has taught at various institutions. He was an FCT doctoral grantee and a collaborator/researcher in the international projects Blackbox: Arts & Cognition and TKB: Transmedia Knowledge-Base for Performing Arts, and organised NOVA University of Lisbon’s TKB and PAI international conferences. He has directed and performed in several productions in Portugal and Germany, and produced RE.AL|AND_Lab – Artistic Research and Scientific Creativity Lab. He has also worked in the creative industries as a Creative Copywriter and Head of Concept, and has extensive experience as a Creative Consultant, Trainer, and Facilitator in communication, leadership, innovation, and creativity, collaborating with national and international organisations. Recent endeavours include completing the Social Presencing Theatre Practitioner Development Program at the Presencing Institute and his doctoral thesis on Emergent Embodied Creativity.
