Biography

Frederico Duarte studied communication design and worked as a graphic designer in Portugal, Malaysia and Italy. In 2010 he graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York with an MFA in design criticism and in 2021 concluded his PhD in curatorship at Birkbeck College, University of London and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Frederico has worked as a design writer, critic and curator since 2006 and has been teaching at the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Fine Arts since 2011. At ITI he is since early 2023 a member of the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails coordinating team.
