Biography

João Raposo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and is currently completing a Master’s degree in the same field with a specialization in Machine Learning and Distributed Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico.

He is presently working on his master’s thesis, which focuses on using machine learning for human pose estimation using sparse sensor data, under the guidance of Professor Daniel Lopes. Professor Lopes is also overseeing João’s summer internship at Interactive Technologies Institute. This internship, in collaboration with Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, aims to detect imperceptible biosignals such as heart rate and breathing rhythm, through data collected from Augmented and Virtual Reality devices.
