Paulo Bala
Biography
Paulo Bala holds a Ph.D. in Digital Media from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Paulo also has an MA. in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Madeira and a BSc. and MSc. in Informatics Engineering from the University of Madeira.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Interactive Technologies Institute, LARSyS, and a teaching assistant (User Centered Computing; Service Design) at Instituto Superior Técnico. Throughout his academic career, he has participated in multiple EU and FCT-funded projects as a research member. His main research areas are Human-Computer Interaction, Entertainment Technology, and eXtended Reality. His research work has been published in top peer-reviewed venues in HCI, like CHI and ISMAR.
